Maslow's hierarchy of needs is more often than not conveyed in the shape of a pyramid. It has the lowest but largest level of needs at the bottom and the need of self actualization at the top, also the needs for people.
This theory was created by Abraham Maslow.
The bottom of the pyramid is the things that people need and can not survive with out, however as it gets higher it turns from needs to wants and at the very top it turns to luxuries.
This theory can be associated with media products because a magazine would be at the very top as a luxury item as people do not need one to be able to survive.
